New Smart Fashion Utility Chic and Khaki

Image
One trend and color that I always love to see come back in season is Utility Chic and Khaki. I think we all have our favorite color that we would never wear, which often stems from childhood, which in my case is pink and then we have a color that we love, in fashion, clothing, fabric and in my case that is Khaki Green. I have even bought Khaki colored knickers in La Senza before, much to my husbands disgust (he believes underwear should be black, white and red, typical Man). In light of this, I was intrigued to watch a net-a-porter video, showing how the office staff worked the Utility trend, I love the way casual khaki trousers can be dressed up and given a smart edge with a classic white shirt or get dressed down with a grey t-shirt and how when I wore this look (back in the day) it was with Trainers and I am loving how these casual pants look so much more sophisticated with heels, whether they be gladiator inspired sandals or peep toe shoe boots. The thing that really saddens me is

Modern Ethnic Fashion Trends - oriental Japanese style

Image
Ethnic fashion has been and still is an ultimate source of inspiration, coming in and out of fashion countless times. Starting from the 19th century and later Jaques Ducett and Paul Poiret, the oriental Japanese style came into the fashion. Names like Jeanne Paquin, Callot Soeurs, Charles Frederik Worth, Mariano Fortuny, Madeleine Vionnet, Jeanne Lanvin, Madame Gres and others followed the early 20th centry ethnic frenzy. Even before, trough the conquests of India and Africa and the American Natives, the European culture had been influenced by the flamboyant style, new fabrics, colors, shapes, forms and motifs that opened a new chapter in prestige and luxury. Trough trade and exchange the influences mixed to create an amazing and magical fusion. Ethnic fashion has Indeed always been extremely rich source of inspiration to the creative minds in fashion. The second half of the 20th century brought Japanese ethnic fashion to Europe trough designs of Kenzo, Myake, Kawakubo and Yamamoto tra

Golden Globe Winner Sandra Bullock - Best Spot of My Career

Image
Even if Golden Globes double-nominee favorite Sandra Bullock doesn’t take home the coveted statue on Sunday for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy for “The Proposal” or for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her work in the inspirational true story “The Blind Side,” the filming experience has at least helped the Hollywood starlet broaden her friendship circle. “ I met this extraordinary family the Touhys (who the film was based on), who I wish I would have remembered to thank since they already did the extraordinary deed and Michael Oher did the most extraordinary thing in opening his heart and allowing himself to be enveloped by this family, ” Bullock excitedly told us backstage at the Critics Choice Awards on Friday after co-winning with (and mouth kissing) Meryl Streep. “ They changed my life and I am so happy to call them friends. And they’re Republicans, and I’m okay with that and they’re okay with me being a Democrat! ” And while

Online Catwalk Models Modeling

Image
Models parading along a catwalk 3.6 kilometers long to the admiration of 350,000 spectators: Such is the nature of the Jember Fashion Carnival, Indonesia’s answer to Rio de Janeiro. Once again the Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC) has brought the East Java city alive, with hundreds of clothes designers, both professional and amateur, presenting their alternative and creative designs, made from a range of materials. From morning, the residents of the city, about 200 kilometers from Surabaya, started crowding onto the main road as music boomed out of a big sound system on the stage outside the Jember Regency government offices. In a sports hall in Gunung Baru street, about 7 kilometers from the city center, hundreds of young children had serious expressions as they made up their faces in front of big mirrors stuck on the walls of the hall. Also there was Dynand Fariz, the JFC president. “Please pay attention to the time,” the president shouted. “It’s almost 11 a.m. and the Marching Band must

The 24-Karat Designer Handbag

Image
Holiday shoppers stuck between the gift of a handbag or a piece of jewelry can rest easy. A flood of deluxe designer bags, embellished with precious metals and stones, has rendered the question moot. Photo Courtesy: iht.com Judith Leiber, the Hungarian-born designer and author of "The Artful Handbag," covered this territory for decades, creating dazzling minaudières, or evening bags, for first ladies and Hollywood starlets. New are the jewelers who have popped up in her likeness. A fine, if extreme, example, is the "platinum bijoux" evening bag from Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry, of Japan, bedecked with 208 carats of diamonds. Weighing in at 800 grams, or 1.8 pounds, the one-of-a-kind bag required a year to complete and is now on offer for ¥200 million, or $2 million. It was originally intended to serve as a showpiece. But Naoto (Nick) Mizuki, general manager of marketing, says the company is considering a line of similar bags, at somewhat lower prices. It was only a mat

Top 3 Handbag Styles Always on the Fashion Trend

The style of a designer handbag is one of the main reasons why this particular fashion accessory is fun to shop for. Tote Handbag Tote Handbags are very popular because they are casual yet very practical to use. These bags usually fall in the middle of the body, around the elbow. They are usually big that's why they provide a lot of space for women's essential things that are too large for a purse. They usually only have one or two compartments and are available with a number of images on them or a simple solid color. 2. Clutch Handbag A clutch is a handbag which
