Takahiro Miyashita Men's Fashion Designer | Fashion Trend Collection

Image
As you all might notice from past posts, I'm getting quite interested in men's fashion a lot more than I ever was. There is something intriguing about this field, something untouched. Maybe the limitations that uninspire some designers and just attach them to creating just for women are a challenge to me. The colors, cuts, understanding the men clothing psyche, what appeals to them and what they want to express thru style is something I'm wanting to venture. Anyhoo, browsing around searching for a messenger bag for school (yes, I'm already shopping for school -any excuse is good for shopping, no?) I fell in love with this Japanese designer. I accidentally found one of his bags for sale on ebay and just flipped head over heels about everything else Takahiro Miyashita has designed. His line Number (N)ine was driving hiatus lane for a while but he's now back and I'm sooo happy I discovered him. These are some insane pieces from past collections:

Wonderful Betsey Johnson Collection | Fashion Trend Collection

Image
All you need to create something astonishing is hidden in the past. History is a wonderful source of inspiration, of knowledge. I believe this year's Betsey Johnson Collection has this explosion of the New and the Old. I believe that she not only combined elements from past designs (like the flower on the dress - that was pretty typical of her designs in the 90's) but she has a marvelous representation of past decades of fashion history colliding with modern looks and uncontrollable splashes of color in every piece. I just had to pick my fave designs from this Fall's collection to show you all. =) Enjoy!! j Isn't she awesome!! Ok, so I love her style and how she does the cartwheel in every one of her runways; so unique. Oh, tomorrow is finally my 23rd b-day! Yes, I'm ultra excited even though I must go to work and proceed with my everyday weekday tasks, lol. I can't help but feel that I'm getting older and it does somewhat frighten me. Still

New York Fashion Week | Fashion Trend Collection

Image
This New York Fashion Week was incredible! Ok, there were some designs that did disappoint me like Rodarte *cough cough* but overall every designer had something totally incredible to offer. Fast Forward New York Fashion Week Begins... Rodarte Proenza Schouler was just brilliant! I love Milly's Upper East Side, Gossip Girly looks. Nanette Lepore is dangerously sweet! Oscar de la Renta ... speechless. Love this Phillip Lim number, that pants are incredible! What designs did you Love & Hate this NYFW??

Futuristic Fashion Trend - evolutionary change

Image
Futurism. It's something of a paradox. The future cannot be predicted; but in envisioning it, we can create self-fulfilling prophecies. You could go crazy just thinking about it - so instead let's just say that the dawn of a new decade has sent 2010's fashion trends into sci-fi and futurism overdrive. So how do we define futuristic fashion? As a Spring 2010 fashion trend it seems to be less about gadgetry and more about future environments. We're faced with collections that contemplate dystopia or evolutionary change . Topics of science fiction are woven into the threads of some designers' clothing, while others base their designs on more traditional views of futurism.

Modern Designer Valentino Collection

Image
Valentino Collection Anyone looking for proof that it is a new day at Valentino need only have tuned in to the Golden Globes, where Chloë Sevigny nabbed an award in a gown by the label's new designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. It wasn't so outré that Mr. Valentino would have disapproved, but it was definitely more avant than anything the label's founder was doing before they retired. That is a lovely way to report the duo's pre-fall collection. The lace, the exquisite beadwork, and the ruffles and frills the house is known for are still there, but they are executed in a more modern (read: shorter) way. Now in their fifth season with the house (counting couture), Chiuri and Piccioli did red for the first time. But we are not talking your typical Valentino red chiffon. In lieu, they showed a patent trench, leather motorbike pants worn with a fox overweight in the same hue, as well as a party dress of red paillettes sewn onto nude tulle. Piccioli c

New Fashion Trends Prediction For Summer 2010

Image
New Fashion Trends Prediction For Summer 2010 Knowing a lot of designers myself & being close to the industry for plenty of years, I can honestly say plenty of of them disagree on the 'next giant thing' until an authority comes & tells them what it is. From then on, most other designers fall in-line & agree, all claiming that they have been saying that from the beginning... But this year has been different. Fall Winter Fashion It's coming to the finish of winter, shoppers are thinking about potential new fashion trends this spring, while designers are pondering over what new cloths they can think up for summer time. Plenty of designers appear to be unified in their predictions this year, predicting THRILLS will be this year's how fashion tip (I am glad it is not black again)! Thrills are tipped to be the hot theme for the 2010 summer, & with so plenty of gifted designers thinking so, the experts disagreeing is unlikely!
